Through the permission of the Northwest Earth Institute, based in Portland, Oregon, Simply Living has formed the Eastern Heartland Earth Institute (EHEI) to offer courses on Voluntary Simplicity, Deep Ecology, Discovering a Sense of Place, Globalization and Its Critics, Choices for Sustainable Living, Healthy Children - Healthy Planet and Menu for the Future. The courses are stimulating and open-ended, creating a wonderful learning environment for participants. The Eastern Heartland Earth Institute offers these courses for workplaces, faith centers and homes in central Ohio.

Spend some time with a lively, thoughtful group of persons committed to personal growth and more earth-friendly living! Earth Institute discussion courses provide an enjoyable, supportive setting in which to examine personal values and habits, engage in stimulating discussion, and make personal changes if desired. Since 1993, tens of thousands of individuals and hundreds of organizations nationally have been involved in these courses. Gather with a group of 8-12 people and share your questions, experiences, joys and concerns on the following topics. A 6-week course meeting Wednesday evenings, beginning January 14th from 6:30-8:00 pm, exploring food systems and their impacts on culture, society and ecological systems. Healthy Children/Healthy Planet
Join in this 8-week discussion course to explore how the effects of advertising and our consumer culture can influence a child's view of the world, discuss ways to create meaningful family times and healthful environments for children, and explore ways to develop a child's connection to nature and to foster creativity. Global Warming: Changing CO2urse
A 6-week course, beginning February 8th, exploring the history and science of global warming, personal values and habits as they relate to climate change, and personal actions to curb the effects of global warming.
