One day in late 1994, I opened my e-mail to find a listproc message: "You are now subscribed to loud-fans" and wondered what sort of gaffe got me onto some heavy metal mailing list. Then I scrolled down to read the original, rigged message, "Subscribe this tattooed librarian, please" and it dawned on me what Andy had found. I hadn't thought anyone knew! Further, much further, this "discussion of the Loud Family, Game Theory etc." listserv is also home to some of the wisest, wittiest and most thoughtful people I know. Here are some of us, loud-fans, my friends:
This is getting lengthy. Do you want to go straight to the new, Cornhengy stuff?

Unfortunately, our $10 camera didn't serve us too well on our trip around the country in summer 1996. Our first stop was at the home of Jeff and Rose in Milwaukee, where we also met Aaron (not Pud) and, of course, Spin. In place of the Ectoplasmic Entity and the even worse things that happened to our photos, here are a couple Jeff-provided birthday shots. Rose appears as "leopard-spotted foot in Batman-inspired camera angle" only, but you get to see her up above in that wedding shot, and below on the sands of Oconomowoc.
To hear it from Stewart, Albuquerque can be a very strange place. Apparently one may find respite at the top of Sandia, but the air is fairly thin up there.
Thanksgiving, 1996, with Scrabble and guitars - all the loud-fan on the go could ever need (the pizza and beer are in the next room). Aaron (otherwise Pudman), Jill (say - Jill and Aaron are parents now!), Bradley, Janet and Andy
Aaron and Bradley got together again in July 1997 to play at our wedding, an extreme delight and honor in the midst of a perfect day. There are a few other relevant photos on the wedding page.
The morning after the famous wedding. No, it must be afternoon by now. Bradley, Janet, Andy, Joe, Sue, Miles, Steve, and Rog in front. Jeff and Rose had left that morning after bestowing the Fishing Game upon us. Quick getaway!
New Year's Weekend, 1998. A complicated set of travel plans gets Steve, Andy and Janet all down to Nashville to visit Miles and Melissa. Miles holds a friend. Andy reflects on how he'll never get into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Brooklyn, March 1998, and a way too short and intense visit to a tall and intense city for Paula's birthday. This shot is in JS's no-bedroom apartment. We also met Dan S. that evening, but cusses if we didn't leave the camera in the car!
John and Janet show off their new acquisition.
We didn't actually have the time to take the Staten Island Ferry after spending it all walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, but you don't have to know that.
Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, July 4, 1998; while visiting Rose and Jeff we encounter a Culture Club song
JeFF, Tim Prchal (from whom I stole no vowels, honest!) and Andy enjoy the lakish delights of Ocomomowoc
At the lovely Oconomowoc shoreline, we debate whether 50 feet of beach is worth a $50 non-resident beach fee
They sure have some oddball ordinances in Oconomowoc
But in Milwaukee, a true sign of the times, as any loud-fan would aver!
But wait, there's more!
If you happen to have stumbled across these photos without having long since bought in to the Loud Family, here's what the fuss is all about.
